Events
Opening Hearing Regarding General Education and Pathways
Andrew Douglas, Chair of the College Council Curriculum Committee has announced an Open Hearing on the proposed General Education Pathways requirements for City Tech. The hearing will take place on Monday, October 1, 12-1:40pm, in the Atrium Amphitheater. A draft copy of the proposal is attached to this announcement.

CUNY has recently issued a diversity action plan entitled “Building a Strong Foundation: A Strategy For Enhancing CUNY’s Leadership in the Areas of Faculty Diversity and Inclusion.”

For the past few months, CUNY Vice Chancellor of Legal Affairs Frederick Schaeffer has been working to revise and update the CUNY Policy on Acceptable Use of Computer Resources. The latest draft of the updated policy can be viewed by clicking here.
Chancellor Matthew Goldstein has accepted the Common Core proposal sent to him by the CUNY Pathways Steering Committee in December. Each college is now in the process of deciding how to implement the Common Core into their curriculum.
Despite this ongoing work, the PSC has filed a lawsuit to prevent the implementation of Pathways, arguing that

Personnel
At its October meeting, the Personnel Committee elected Howard Sisco as its chair for 2011-2012. Thomas Wilkin had already been elected to serve as the secretary of the committee.
Buildings and Grounds
Daniel Capruso is chairing the Buildings & Grounds Committee this year. Douglas Davis is serving as Secretary.
Committee on Students
The 2011-2012 Committee on Students is chaired by Sandie Han. Its secretary is Laura Ghezzi.
Budget
Dennis Bakewicz and John Graham are chairing the Budget Committee this year. Daniel Alter is serving as Secretary.

Technology
As part of our survey of the technology infrastructure at City Tech, the Technology Committee asked Karen Lundstrem and David Turkiew to produce a document explaining who does what in the presentation (“smart”) class rooms. Those documents, along with the org chart we created, are now online here.
